Saia's Tucson, AZ Terminal Relocates
The Saia Tucson, AZ terminal has moved to a more centrally located facility to better service customers throughout southern Arizona. "Being located just off Highway I-10 provides a number of opportunities for us that we didn't have in our old facility," said Tucson Terminal Manager Ann Arent. "With this location and dock configuration, we will have a more efficient operation overall," she said. The facility will be a stand-alone, traditional freight building with more office space and ample parking. "We are excited about our new location and look forward to providing quality service to our customers," said Arent. "We continually work to improve our on-time service," she added. "On-time pick-up and on-time delivery are two of the major components in measuring how well we handle our customer’s freight." Saia measures six primary indicators developed as the result of in-depth research from customers making transportation buying decisions. Those six indicators, referred to as Saia's Customer Service Indicators, (CSIs) include, in addition to on-time delivery and on-time pick-up, claims-free shipment percentage, claims settled within 30 days, proof of delivery (POD) turnaround and invoicing accuracy. Saia is the only carrier in its class to publish a Customer Service Indicator index, making those results available to its customers.
