"For instance, with GS Standard, customers can guarantee shipments simply by writing 'GSS' on their bill of lading," explains Buchholz. "There is no phone call, no extra paperwork. Also, the charge for GS Standard is a 20% premium added to the net LTL rate – with a minimum $20 additional charge – so it is easy for customers to calculate cost."
