Saia Offers Customers Two New Website Features
Saia Motor Freight has added two new features to its website – giving customers the opportunity to obtain Customer Service Indicators® (CSIs) specific to their own account, and an on-line transit time calculator, launched to assist customers in finding the amount of time it will take to have their shipment delivered. "We are continuing to add elements to our website that are of benefit to our customers," said Saia Vice President of Marketing and Customer Service Sally Buchholz. "The transit time calculator is found under the service coverage section of the website and is very user friendly," Buchholz said. "Our calculator allows customers to simply enter origin and destination information, select submit and within moments, they will receive their transit time information that shows the amount of transit days, serving origin terminal, servicing destination terminal, and phone numbers for each," she said. Also, along with this new website addition, when customers use Saia’s on-line rate quote, the transit times are displayed on the quotes as well. "On-time delivery and on-time pick-up are two of the major components in measuring how well we handle our customer’s freight," said Buchholz. Saia measures six primary indicators developed as the result of in-depth research from customers making transportation buying decisions. Those six indicators, referred to as Saia’s Customer Service Indicators, include, in addition to on-time delivery and on-time pickup, claims-free shipment percentage, claims settled within 30 days, proof of delivery (POD) turnaround and invoicing accuracy. Saia is the only carrier in its class to publish a Customer Service Indicator index, making those results available to its customers. And now, customers may obtain customer-specific CSI information on their account. All a customer has to do in order to do that, is select the option for CSI under Saia Secure and sign in with User ID and password.
