Richard Named Vice President of Human Resources
JOHNS CREEK, GA - Nov. 1, 2015 - Saia, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAIA) is pleased to announce that Michelle Richard has been named the vice president (VP) of human resources (HR) for the company. She joined Saia last year and had been serving as the company's director of HR. Marty Ready, Saia's VP of HR since 2008, retired on Oct. 31, 2015. Richard has 11 years of experience in transportation and logistics/supply chain. Prior to Saia, she worked for a large, international retailer as the director of HR for their Eastern logistics division. Before transitioning to HR, she worked as in-house counsel for their logistics and retail operations where she provided labor and employment advice to senior executives, corporate leadership teams, and senior field leaders. Before this, she was an associate attorney with an Atlanta law firm. Richard received her doctorate of law from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.
