Saia Quality Manager to Present at ACC Conference

(NASDAQ: SAIA) is pleased to announce that Quality Manager Cindy Emmons will present at the 2010 Responsible Care® Conference & Expo being held May 2-5 in Miami, Fla. Emmons has over 27 years experience in the transportation industry and has spent 12 years working in management system implementation. Her presentation will offer conference attendees advice and insight on preparing for their first and second rounds of audits, including common findings and corrective actions they can take to better position themselves for a successful review. Emmons spearheaded Saia's most recent certification efforts. At present, nine Saia facilities have been certified RC14001® during the company's ongoing certification process. Saia successfully transitioned to the updated 2008 version of RC14001® and is planning another round of terminal certifications for 2011, which will increase the company's total number of certified facilities by eight. RC14001:2008® combines the requirements of both the Responsible Care Management System and the International Standards Organization (ISO)14001:2005 certification. It builds on the ISO standard and stipulates meeting 27 additional requirements creating a robust formalized quality, environmental, health and safety, and security management system.
