Saia Motor Freight Enhances Website Features

Saia Motor Freight has announced enhanced new services on its website, offering customers three new features. Customers now have the option of receiving a rate quote, completing bill of ladings, or viewing the company’s Customer Service Indicators, or performance measurements.

“These new features were designed specifically with our customers in mind,” said Sally Buchholz, vice president of marketing and customer service. “Our intention is to provide customers with up-to-date methods of pricing shipments online, bill of lading generation and the measurement results we use to determine how well we do as a company.”

Customers will find an easy to use process of calculating rates for shipments from one location to another through the rate quote. Customers simply enter the pertinent information required and within seconds, a quote is generated.

Customers also have an option of completing a bill of lading online. After entering the required information, a bill of lading is ready to print.

“We sincerely hope our customers will take advantage of these new online features, and let us know how handy these new conveniences are for them,” said Buchholz. “In addition to rate quotes and bill of lading generation, we believe that showing our customers our performance measurements via our Customer Service Indicators (CSIs) demonstrates our competitive advantage.”

Saia measures six primary indicators developed as the result of in-depth research from customers making transportation buying decisions. Those six indicators, Saia’s Customer Service Indicators, include on-time delivery, on-time pickup, claims-free shipment percentage, claims settled within 30 days, proof of delivery (POD) turnaround and invoicing accuracy. Saia is the only carrier in its class to publish a Customer Service Indicator index, making those numbers available to its customers on a regular basis.
