Saia Announces Improved Midwest Transit Times
DULUTH, GA - Continuing to implement improvements to meet customers needs, leading Less-Than-Truckload carrier Saia has announced a reduction in transit times from key points in the Midwest. The transit time improvements will go into effect August 1. The changes will mean that Saia customers will receive a 1-day improvement in delivery times on freight moving from points served by the Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Chicago, Illinois; Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Minneapolis, Minnesota to terminals across the south and southwest. Improved transit times will positively affect those shipments originating from the Midwest markets destined to points served by terminals in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. "As Saia continues to have success in the Midwest marketplace, opportunities are developed to create direct schedules and enhance service" said Saia President & CEO Rick O'Dell.
