Saia Launches Expanded Guaranteed Select Service
Duluth, GA - LTL freight industry innovator Saia, a wholly owned subsidiaries of SCS Transportation, Inc., (NASDAQ: SCST), has announced the rollout of its Guaranteed Select Service that offer choices for guaranteed delivery times. The enhanced Guaranteed Select Service offerings will allow customers to choose from three tiers of delivery times for their shipments. The enhanced service is easy to use and has standard pricing. The three delivery options are: GSS 12 - Shipments guaranteed to arrive by noon, GSS 2 - Shipments guaranteed to arrive by 2 p.m., and GSS 5 - Shipments guaranteed to arrive by 5 p.m. The expanded Guaranteed Select Service offering for shipments is now available for freight moving between direct points in Saias network of 127 terminals covering 30 states. "Initial rollout of the Guaranteed Select family of products in the southeast proved extremely successful," said Vice President of Marketing and Customer Service Sally Buchholz, "and we are now offering this innovative service to the complete Saia service area." Continued Buchholz: "Customers told us that the ease of use, the expanded delivery time options and the simplified cost structure make this service an integral one for their time-sensitive freight." Saia launched the successful Guaranteed Select products in a five-state area in December 2004 after extensive research showed that guaranteed shipping options are important to customers when selecting a carrier. In line with these findings, Saia has expanded its Guaranteed Select product line to feature the three guaranteed delivery options throughout the day. The new service joins Saia's family of GS products: GS Standard, with guaranteed arrival by standard transit times; GS Accelerated, with expedited service and guaranteed arrivals in a shorter time frame than published transit times at a direct service point; GS Precise, with shipments guaranteed to arrive within a half-hour of a specified time at a point served directly by Saia; and GS Custom, with other guaranteed or expedited shipping needs a customer may have.
