Saia, Inc. Celebrates Employee Appreciation Week
DULUTH, GA - August 20, 2004 - Executives from Saia, Inc. today announced plans to celebrate Employee Appreciation Week for the less-than-truckload (LTL) company's more than 6,300 staff. The celebration, scheduled for August 22-28, coincides with national Driver Appreciation Week. The week was set aside to honor employees at terminals and sales and general office staff, Saia officials said. Representatives praised each of the motor freight's individual employees for the hard work and dedication required for success in the challenging industry. The week includes honoring employees with personal letters from the President and CEO and banners addressing each employee's critical contributions to the company success at each facility. Terminals and general offices participated in raffles and prize drawings. "Every week should be employee appreciation week," said Saia President and CEO Rick O'Dell. "Saia personnel amaze me each day with the hard work, dedication and commitment that they give to make Saia a successful company." O'Dell said that communication and teamwork are vital aspects of the organization's success.
