Saia Announces Brian Balius
Vice President of Operations

DULUTH, GA – Saia, a wholly owned subsidiary of SCS Transportation, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCST) announced that Brian Balius, an 18-year transportation veteran, has been named an officer of the company. As vice president of operations, Balius will oversee all company terminal operations, with Saia regional operations and sales managers reporting directly to him.

"The acquisition of Clark Bros. has brought great opportunities to us," said Saia President and CEO Rick O’Dell. "The company structure has been realigned to support our expanded geographic territory. Brian has great experience in all aspects of operations and will be of great benefit to us going forward. We are fortunate to have a person with his knowledge leading our team."

Balius has been director of line haul for the past four years, and he was previously manager of line haul. He began his career with Saia as dock supervisor in New Orleans, and served as terminal manager in Birmingham, AL. Balius received a BA degree with a major in transportation from Mississippi State University in 1983.
