Answering Customer Needs, Saia Offers Improved Transit Time Service From Las Vegas, NV To Oregon and Washington Areas
DULUTH, GA – Saia, a leading provider of less-than-truckload (LTL) regional and interregional service, announced today a one-day improvement of transit times from Las Vegas, NV to Saia terminals throughout Washington and Oregon. Responding to customer needs, Saia will offer two-day transit service from its Las Vegas, NV terminal and surrounding cities to its Bend, Eugene and Portland, Oregon terminals and to its terminals in Pasco, Spokane and Yakima, Washington. "Our customers have indicated to us the importance of two-day service to and from these areas, and we are happy to announce this new transit time improvement based on that demand," said Tony Albanese, Saia senior vice president of operations and sales. "Continuous improvement of our transit times is a high priority for Saia and we have placed a strong emphasis on delivering the service that our customers have said they expect," he said. "More than 90 percent of our shipments are delivered in two days or less." Last year Saia announced the largest number of transit time improvements in its history, cutting one or more days of service off approximately 11-million zip pairs between points in its 30-state market. In the past two years, Saia has improved transit times in more than 20-million zip pairs in its coverage area. "When you add this transit time enhancement with our on-time delivery percentage, overall we are providing a better service in the market place," Albanese said. "Our on-time delivery has exceeded 97 percent on a consistent basis. This is one of the primary measurements in our Customer Service IndicatorsÒ program," he said. The Saia Customer Service Indicators program (CSI) is an index of performance measurements that include pick-up performance, on-time delivery, claims settled within 30 days, claims-free shipments, proof of delivery (POD) turnaround and invoice accuracy.
