Saia Presented With Three Major Customer Awards
Saia has been presented with three major customer awards – the 2002 Ryder Transportation Management (RTM) Carrier Quality Award, the Crompton-Taft Logistics Supplier of the Year Award for 2002 for consistent on-time delivery, and the Exel Transportation Services Carrier of the Year Award for 2002. Notification of the annual Ryder Carrier Quality Award in the Super Region Service Category was announced to Saia National Account Executive Jim Cox through correspondence from Ryder General Manager of Procurement Tim Podvin. "This is a new award for the super region service category(carriers that cover more than one region) and we are proud to accept this honor," said Cox. "We instituted our quality award process to make certain we are working with carriers who provide peak performance for our customers and to acknowledge their excellence," said Podvin. "Saia has shown that they meet or exceed standards and are part of the 'best of the best' in the industry." Also, in ceremonies held recently in Taft, LA, Crompton Corporation, which manufactures and markets a wide variety of polymer and specialty products, presented the Supplier of the Year award to Saia Vice President of National Accounts Terry Ryan. "This award is presented to Saia in recognition of your excellent service, providing consistent service of an OTD (on-time delivery) rating of 97 percent," said Taft Crompton Corporation Plant Transportation Manager Jan Madere, in presenting the award. "I would like to congratulate you on your award," said Michael Fernandez, Crompton regional purchasing manager. "It is suppliers like Saia who make our business a success." Saia has also been recognized by Exel Transportation Services (formerly Mark VII) as the 2002 Carrier of the Year.
