Saia Reduces Transit Times from Atlanta to Norfolk, Va. Area

JOHNS CREEK, GA - March 1, 2010 - Saia, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAIA) has reduced transit times from the company's Atlanta, Ga. service area to Norfolk, Va., and surrounding communities, effective immediately.

In recent months, because of the reduced transit times, customers have received a one-day delivery improvement on freight moving between almost 1.1 million ZIP code pairs.

"Reduced transit times help shippers further streamline their supply chains," said Saia President and CEO Rick O'Dell. "Businesses can improve their order fill rate, thus making them more competitive."

Transit time reductions were made possible because of continued network optimization, allowing for more direct moves. In 2009, Saia surpassed its 97% on-time service goal. In addition to this achievement, we attained 98% service in our intra-state lanes.
